Haughton Man Arrested for Aggravated Battery

Bossier Sheriff Larry Deen says a Haughton man has been arrested for aggravated battery.
Randal Kent Pedigo, 53, of the 100 block of Barnard Circle, was taken into custody after his wife went to a local clinic with a laceration to her stomach. Bossier Sheriff’s deputies say Pedigo and his wife were arguing when he brandished a kitchen knife, slashed at her wrist, missed and cut her stomach. His wife told deputies her husband tried to cut her wrist to make it look like a suicide.
Bossier Sheriff’s deputies say Pedigo also hit her with a can of Pepsi and “bear hugged” her, but he denied all physical contact. He was booked into the Bossier Maximum Security Facility with bond pending.

Black Jack Cheaters Arrested

On July 14, 2008, Boomtown Casino in Bossier Parish, Louisiana, notified the Louisiana State Police, Bureau of Investigations, Gaming Enforcement Section, of an incident which occurred on July 14, 2008, involving a theft of approximately $9,000.00 from a black jack table by a dealer and several patrons.
Investigation revealed three subjects later identified as James Sherman Jr., Anthony Williams, and Tamika Williams (Anthony Williams' Spouse) entered Boomtown Casino, Bossier City, at approximately 4:30 a.m. on July 14, 2008. James Sherman and Tamika Williams made their way to a Black Jack table where Jerado Wilson was the dealer. Anthony Williams positioned himself at a table across the pit from James Sherman and Tamika Williams. Surveillance coverage revealed cheating of the game. The methods of cheating were through overpayments, failing to take losing payments and the manipulation of cards.
Through further investigation it was determined that Anthony Williams was using distraction methods to prevent the floor supervisor from seeing the ongoing cheating. In addition, review of the surveillance coverage indicated procedures were not followed by the Surveillance Shift Supervisor, Carlos Ellis. During an interview with Carlos Ellis, he denied any wrongdoing and advised he did not know James Sherman, Anthony Williams or Tamika Williams.
Research indicated Tamika Williams was currently a dealer at Horseshoe Casino, Bossier City, and that her husband Anthony Williams had been a dealer in 2002 at Boomtown Casino, Bossier City. Anthony Williams was terminated from Boomtown Casino in 2002 for overpayments. On July 22, 2008, Section Troopers interviewed Tamika Williams at Horseshoe Casino where she admitted to the theft and advised that her husband Anthony Williams forced her to do it. Through statements made by Tamika Williams, and further research, it was determined Carlos Ellis and Anthony Williams were first cousins. A review of phone records also indicated there was communication between cell phone numbers belonging to Carlos Ellis and Anthony Williams and between cell phone numbers belonging to James Sherman and Anthony Williams just prior to and just after the theft.
On August 07, 2008, Section Troopers obtained arrests warrants through Bossier Parish on Anthony Williams, Tamika Williams, James Sherman, Jerado Wilson and Carlos Ellis for L.R.S. 14:67B.(1) Felony Theft ($6,800.00) and L.R.S. 14:26 Criminal Conspiracy.
On August 12, 2008, Section Troopers along with Troop G Troopers conducted an operation which resulted in the location and arrests of Carlos Ellis, James Sherman Jr., Jerado Wilson and Anthony Williams. Each of the subjects were transported to Caddo Correctional Center and booked as fugitives from Bossier Parish. Tamika Williams turned herself in to Gaming Section Troopers at the Bossier Maximum Security Jail on August 14, 2008. Immediately following Tamika Williams' booking, James Sherman requested to talk to Section Troopers. During his interview, James Sherman admitted to being recruited into the scheme by Anthony Williams

Man on the run arrested in Shreveport

17-year-old Joshua Thomas was arrested around 4:00pm Wednesday. KTBS 3's Chris Redford was on the scene when officers arrested Thomas on Dowdell Road and Earl Road.
Thomas was wanted for robbery and attempted robbery of two people on Mount Zion road back in May.

Angela Therese Dunn, 35, of the 800 block of Wells Road, faces charges for second offense D.W.I., reckless operation and open container. Bossier Sheriff Larry Deen says the Haughton woman was arrested Sunday night after crashing her car in the 5200 block of Bellevue Road.Dunn broke her pelvis in the wreck. While medical personnel transported her to the LSU HSC emergency room, a Bossier deputy searched Dunn's car and found an open can of beer on floor of the driver's side. The deputy then saw Dunn in the emergency room and smelled alcohol on her breath and body.Deputies read Dunn her rights at the hospital, and booked her into the Bossier Maximum Security Facility after she was released. She is free on a $2,400 bond.

A Shreveport man who allegedly had sex with young two girls for almost a decade is behind bars. Darrell Chism, 36, is charged with aggravated and forcible rape. Authorities say the alleged rapes happened at hotels, different homes, and a park in Shreveport. The case will go to the grand jury next month.

Fired Shreveport police sergeant Rickey Moore was sentenced today to 15 years in prison for providing drugs to nightclub strippers in return for favors.
Moore, dressed in jail coveralls, stood impassive as Judge John Joyce imposed sentence in Caddo District Court. He faced up to 30 years in prison on each of the two counts on which he was convicted.
A jury in June found Moore, 53, guilty of providing cocaine and a prescription pain killer to a dancer at the Deja Vu Strip Club on Commerce Street. Prosecutors said Moore provided drugs hoping for sexual favors.
Much of the prosecution's case revolved around a dancer who became a police informant. The jury heard voicemails discussing drugs and saw video surveillance of the woman being given drugs at the downtown club.
Moore, a 17-year veteran of the Police Department, was fired after his arrest. He has been in jail since his conviction.
Moore denied the charges against him. His lawyers said prosecutors coerced witnesses to testify against him.

A Haughton man has been arrested for aggravated assault after allegedly shooting at his fiancee and her two children, Bossier Parish sheriff's deputies said.
Jerry Handy, 53, of Hogan Road was arrested Wednesday night. Sheriff's deputies said he fired two shots at the woman and her children while they were in his driveway.
Handy denied intentionally shooting at the three, deputies said, telling them was shooting at a snake on the floor of his house and did not know they were outside.
The handgun's serial number had been filed off, deputies said, so Handy was charged with having a gun with an obliterated serial number.

A Shreveport man, upset at his girlfriend because she had been out all night, squeezed their 3-month-old baby to death in a fit of anger, the Caddo Parish grand jury concluded today as it returned a second-degree murder indictment against him.
Grady Thornton, who turns 19 on Saturday, faces life in prison if convicted of killing his son, T.J.
Shreveport police, who arrested Thornton in June, said he was fussing at his girlfriend and the baby started crying. Thornton vented his anger by squeezing T.J., police said.
The baby died of blunt force trauma to the head and torso, Assistant District Attorney Ed Blewer said. There was no indication he fell, Blewer said.
Thornton is jailed under $500,000 bond.
